Meet Coach Jose

Coach Jose Sanchez is the Head Coach of the UC Davis Women’s Flag Football program and a driving force behind the growth of girls flag football across Northern California. He is the Founder of the HERisUS Foundation, leads the East County Elite travel program, and is launching a 49ers FLAG league in Antioch, while also serving on the coaching staff at Deer Valley High School.

With experience spanning youth, high school, and collegiate levels, Coach Jose has built a strong reputation for developing high-level athletes and creating clear pathways to college opportunities. His coaching philosophy centers on an athlete-first approach—focusing on confidence, skill development, and long-term growth both on and off the field.

He specializes in quarterback, center, and rusher development, utilizing a structured, system-driven approach that builds high-IQ, versatile players. His sessions are intentional, competitive, and designed to challenge athletes while keeping passion and enjoyment at the core.

Beyond the field, Coach Jose is deeply committed to community impact. Through his programs and foundation, he connects athletes and families with mentorship, academic support, and leadership opportunities—developing not just better players, but stronger individuals.
